Reading Shel Silverstein's A light in the Attic & Falling Up to C. He loves them after his naps. Almost finished them and only have Where the Sidewalk Ends in reserve. Any suggestions on Children's poetry? I don't know much about poetry.
I would check out "A Children's Book of Verse" illustrated by Eric Kincaid. It has a wide range of poems, some specifically for kids but also some by Wordsworth, Tennyson, and Carrol among others. The illustrations are incredible. I remember staring at the illustration for "The Big Rock Candy Mountains" and pretending I lived there. You don't have to look specifically for Children's poetry, either. I read Max and Sam poems about nature by Frost and e.e.cummings. Also, check out this site for some great recommendations for children's poetry books: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/children/poet-laureate-book-picks
